Clinical efficacy

Alvesco^® significantly improves lung function^1-5 and small airway function^6-8 and has a fast onset of action. Alvesco^® significantly decreases airway hyperresponsiveness after 2.5 hours of administration.⁹

Alvesco^® also has a prolonged duration of action, which allows for once-daily dosing. Desisobutyryl-ciclesonide (des-CIC) forms lipid conjugates in the lung,¹⁰ which, coupled with the drug’s high lipophilicity, improves drug retention in the lung tissue.
